When a speaker is reconed, everything except the magnet is
replaced. Won't this fix your problem?

Other finding a speaker that will work properly in that cabinet
will be difficult. The inherent characteristics of the speaker and
cabinet work together to give the correct low end response. It
takes Thiel Small parameter analysis as well as some trial and
error.

I just blew both of the foam surrounds in my infinity Kappa 8s. The foam gets brittle after 17 yrs. The re-edge kit from here worked great. If that is all that is wrong, then I highly recommend it.

Infinity Mid-Range replacement
IP: Logged

Message:
I have an Infinity RS 2.5 speak system (1980). Each speaker cabinet has 2) EMIM midrange speakers. One of mine has died. They are easy to replace. I've had to do it in the past. But now Infinity (Harman Kardan) says they don't make or have any replacements. Can those mid-range speakers be repaired, or does anyone know where I might pick up a replacement?

I have a pair of Infinity Model 1001 2-way speakers from the 1970s. One of the woofers has a bad voice coil. I am looking for a replacement woofer that will closely match the woofer in the other speaker.
Any suggestions for a good match or for a source for a used original?
