Infinity Speaker Repair (9.7.2010) Reviewer: GK (Denver, CO) Repair went pretty well. The hardest part was removing the old glue - I tried to get rid of as much as possible, but I probably could have left some on, as long as the foam was gone. Centering the foam took a little effort, but even with the quick drying glue it wasn't too hard - make sure you press gently and not to one side to ensure it's not contacting the frame. Took a little longer than expected. One caveat - I have checked out the repair, but haven't really stressed the speakers since making it.   Speaker repair (8.25.2010) Reviewer: Helmuth Zander (Las Cruces, NM) I have been trying to replace my Infinity speakers on which the foam edging was deteriorating. I could not find a replacement and came across repairing the foam edging website. I though I’d give it a try. I purchased both the 5” and 8” speaker repair foam re-edge kits. Delivery was quick. I started with the 5” speaker first to get the feel of the process and then moved onto the 8” speakers. I mainly used a small chisel to remove the old adhesive from the frame. The most difficult part was centering the cone in the voice coil. The 5 inch speakers just about center themselves but the 8” required adjusting glued foam edging to center the cone. I did manage to center them eventually. My only recommendation is to provide an adhesive which has a longer work time. I started getting concerned about centering the last speaker when the adhesive started to set became difficult to adjust.   Infinity Reference Three (8.25.2010) Reviewer: E Weber (atlanta, Ga) Re-edged both 8" and 5" speakers. Kit worked better than competition I used on Heathkit speakers. Will use this glue to "touch up" the outer edges of the Heathkits. No problem with fast drying glue. No problem with keeping voice coil centered. Now looking at other old speakers to repair with this kit.   View all 23 reviews
