Our brand new Generation III diaphragms have the same specs and they sound just like the original JBL diaphragms! And they include the FULL METAL Construction and Titanium Star Pattern Dome. They are 4.2 ohm DCR which is exactly like the original JBL. They have the correct gasket thickness. They have the correct size terminals. They have the same titanium domes, voice coils, and Kapton formers. The aftermarket diaphragm is made to JBL 2412H-1 specification. This diaphragm is for the 2412 Series of drivers including 2412, 2412H, 2412H-8, 2412-8, 2412-1, 2412H-1, 2412H-1-8, 2412-1-8, Sound Factor Series, SF15, SF-15, SR25, SR-25, JRX Series, JRX100, JRX112, JRX112M, JRX112MI, JRX115, JRX115I, JRX-100, JRX-112, JRX-112M, JRX-112MI, JRX-115, JRX-115I, JRX125, JRX-125, JRX 125, TR Series, MPro Series, TR-125, TR125, TR 125, TR-225, TR225, TR 225, MP-215, MP215, MP 215, Eon1500, Eon 1500, Eon Power10, 125-10000-00x, 339013-001X and many more... The diameter of the voice coil is 1"
NOW THE REAL QUESTION: Is our FULL METAL Generation III diaphragm better than our Plastic Generation II? JBL thinks a metal casting is better otherwise they would use plastic instead of metal. The Full Metal casting costs 10 times as much as the plastic. The Full Metal casting is attached to the dome which is attached to the voice coil. The Full Metal casting will dissipate heat MUCH BETTER than the plastic. The Full Metal casting should allow the diaphragm to handle more power. This is most likely the reason JBL opted for the Full Metal casting rather than Plastic.
We have sold tens of thousands of the aftermarket diaphragms since they started making them back in the 90's. We (Orange County Speaker) helped in the testing of the very first JBL aftermarket models and have continued to help perfect all the newer versions. The original JBL 2412H-1 drivers are $84.00 each. Our aftermarket diaphragms are the same quality, but a much lower price! We give a 100% money back guarantee!!!
