The Eminence Hi-Fi woofers are an excellent choice for home audio. They are very efficient and do not require much power (although they can handle alot of power.) Eminence rates their woofers all the way down to 1 watt. This means you can play the woofers with as little as 1 watt of power and they will still sound fine. Some home audio tube amps only have 10-15 watts of power. These woofers will still work perfect at this low power!

These also are a perfect replacement for the original ESS AMT1 (10" version), AMT3, and AMT4.

Excellent replacement in ESS AMT 4 (11.2.2012)

Good woofer for the price. I basically just unsoldered the old woofers and put these in and they work very well. The magnets are huge compared to the the one on the original woofer. The Eminence 1040SF weigh probably twice what the old woofer weighed. They are very good speakers ;

Bought these to replace the original Eminence 10" drivers in a set of the original Hsu Research HRSW10 subwoofers. They fit perfectly and are indeed the latest version of the original drivers. (I did notice the older drivers have a somewhat heavier basket but otherwise they seem identical). Obviously not the ultimate 10" but excellent for the $! The sound is superb - excellent definition / control driving the pair with an old dbx BX1 amp of, admittedly, much more power (512W @ 8ohms) than these need use. Did hook them up to a 100W Parasound & they still sound solid & well defined. Great prompt service from OCS!! Thx Eric!

Perfect ESS AMT3 Upgrade (8.13.2010)

Works very well as a upgrade to the stock AMT3 woofer. Eliminates the warm tendency (and/or lower output)of the the stock alnico maganet woofers. Also gives you real useable output down to 30hz, and integrates very well with the stock transitional driver and Heil. Don't waste your money reconing and recharging the stock woofers- the 1040sf's are an easy, sound upgrade-and should IMHO also work well with the AMT 1's, and other 10inch paper cone ESS speakers.

I bought my first set for my ESS speakers. They sounded so good I bought another set to replace my Vega D3 speakers. Now my Vega speakers sound great too.
