They arrived quickly. They are easy to assemble, and the videos were very helpful. I would buy this product again, and I would buy from Orange County Speaker again.

I like not having to solder and the press fit of the wire. Very nice design.

Used these on my Yamaha receiver and they worked like a charm. Why buy Monster when you can buy these at a fraction of the cost. They are near identical in every way. |

My first attempt I stripped about 5/8" of ~12 gauge wire but there was too much protruding over the top of the connector barrel. The strands were long enough to interfere with the screw threads and the fitting was stripped. The remainder of the banana plugs went fine after I altered my technique to just under 1/2" of stripped wire. The connectors are solid, easy to handle, and fit in my receiver sockets firmly. Audio quality is subjective. Originally I used bare wire ends which might have sounded a smidgen clearer but were a huge hassle. I anticipate that once I bi-wire with these banana clips, I will most likely not notice any difference from bare wire. The convenience (and minimizing loose strands) is definitely worth it.

I had just used the binding posts with my old Onkyo receiver, but it was a real pain when I had to move the receiver or change my set up with other components, especially since my receiver is in a fairly tight spot.
Thanks to the recommendations of people on AVSforum, I ordered some of these GLS plugs and they worked great for my new Yamaha receiver. Makes for a much neater installation, and it's very easy to make adjustments later on.

I purchased two types of connectors from OC Speaker, these and the "GLS Audio Banana Plug Speaker Connectors - Locking Series." The locking connectors were way too large in hole diameter for my 16 gauge wire, but the safe-connect ones were perfect, easy to assemble, and worked well for my speakers.

Perfect size for tight cabinet spaces behind receiver! (12.23.2009)

I was originally going to buy the black chrome GLS banana plugs but realized the longer length of those plugs would be a very tight if not impossible fit behind my AVR inside my AV cabinet. The shorter Safe Connect plugs allowed my speaker wire behind the receiver to have just enough breathing room to clear the back wall of my cabinet. Great product and half the price of the identical plugs that Monster makes. Awesome!

yep. they were. i bought these after already owning the monster version and the gls were the same and half the price. i also bought some of the locking plugs. i like the locking a little better. i recommend the locking. although if you like this safe-connect style then definitely buy these rather than the monster cable. why spend more for a name? ;)

These looked just like Quicklock banana plugs by Monster Cable. I was pleasantly surprised after receiving them. They were great and half the price. |

I bought these instead of the Monster Cable Quicklock and saved a bundle. I previously bought some of the Monsters at Best Buy. They cost me $24.99 for 4 pcs. I needed 20 more and was hating the fact that I needed to spend another $125 on plugs. I found a post on Audio Karma for these Safe-Connect plugs. I had my doubts that these could really be the same as the Quick Lock. How could they be? They were only $2.00 per plug. The Monsters cost me $6.00 per plug. That just didn't seem right. But, low and behold after I got them they were just the same as the Monsters. I give these a 5 Star for quality, but a 10 Star for price!
